On The Road Again Canucks gameday links: NWSB Matchup Insight | NWSB Preview + Prediction After closing out an undefeated five-game home stand the Vancouver Canucks will take to the road to face the Minnesota Wild tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild are one of the NHL’s best one home ice however Ryan Suter and company will have to prove their worth tonight against one of the league’s hottest teams in the Canucks. Canucks Cruising The Canucks carry a five-game unbeaten streak into Minnesota tonight, facing a Wild team that has struggled to score of late. The Wild managed only three goals over their recent three-game road trip but will need to step it up tonight against the Canucks who have scored three goals or more in all but one of their seven-straight wins. Chris Higgins – so hot right now. Higgins So Hot Right Now It’s not just his rock-hard abs – Chris Higgins has been one of the hottest Canucks during the month of December. Higgins carries a five-game point streak heading into tonight’s game having put up three goals and four assists over his last five games. Look for Higgins to continue to find success alongside Ryan Kesler and Mike Santorelli on Vancouver’s sizzling second line.  Xcel Energizes Home ice advantage has been good to the Minnesota Wild so far this season. The Wild are 13-3-2 at home already this year, however the team has struggled on the road with a sub .500 record away from Xcel. Tonight the Canucks need to challenge the Wild early and take them out of their comfort zone in front of the home fans. Roberto Ready Roberto Luongo will receive the start for the Canucks tonight despite his previous personal struggles at the Xcel Energy Center. Luongo has had a tough time in the building over years past, however Vancouver’s starter enters tonight’s game as one of the league’s hottest goaltenders. Luongo has a 1.19 GAA over his last five wins and has three shutouts in his last six starts against the Wild. Harding Hard To Beat While Roberto Luongo enters tonight’s game as one of the league’s hottest goaltenders of late Josh Harding continues to represent the class of the NHL in goal. The Wild goaltenders boasts the NHL’s best goals-against average among starters heading into tonight’s game with a 1.49 through 26 games played so far this season. Look for Harding to keep the home team in it if they struggle to generate offence tonight against the Canucks. CLICK HERE CHECK OUT THE CANUCKS BLOG IN OUR CLUBHOUSE SECTION AT NWSB!
