Sabres 3, Canadiens 1

Paul Gaustad had a goal and two assists to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. Ryan Miller made 27 saves for Buffalo, which won its second straight road game following a 12-game losing streak away from home. Gaustad set up Ville Leino's fourth goal 4:01 into the second period to tie it at 1. Gaustad beat Carey Price from the goalmouth...

Habs/Sabres, Comebacks, Rumors and More

Morning puck fans! Well, that was rough last night. The 3-1 score, which featured an empty netter for Patrick Kaleta, is not quite indicative of the game. With the Sabres getting 40 shots in the contest, it was never really that close. Thank goodness Carey Price was not playing looking towards the glass or it could have been far worse. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the league...

GARTH: Ennis & Goose Ready To Fly

Tyler Ennis has missed the past 16 games with a high ankle sprain (December 20- injured reserve). Ennis will re-join the starting lineup in Montreal on Tuesday night. Lindy Ruff said as much last Tuesday morning on his weekly radio show. Rather than play the two players in Newark and risk an injury setback, Ruff game each of his forwards an extra week off to rest and recover. The Sabres offense...

Max Pacioretty and the Canadiens no longer have a problem with just Zdeno Chara and the Bruins. They now have to worry about Paul Gaustad and the Sabres, too. Gaustad ensured that he shot up the ranks on the long list of perceived Montreal villains on Tuesday night when he got into a verbal bout with the Canadiens bench. According to a number of Canadiens, Gaustad got into it with...

Hab's winning again...

Here is the latest dust up on the ice. This time the Montreal Canadians players are whining and complaining about something that the Buffalo Sabres forward Paul Gaustad said on the ice, and after further review, it would appear that Max Pacioretty said something stupid to Gaustad first and got a response and got a quick response back. In my opinion it sounds like Pacioretty got PWND...

Habs/Sabres, AHL ASG, Replacing PG, White's Return and More

Morning Hab fans! After five days, yes five whole days, without meaningful hockey, the Canadiens return to the ice tonight to face the struggling Buffalo Sabres. The last time nos Canadiens laced up, they trounced perennial power house Detroit 7-2. The game was so long ago and the result so unexpected, almost feels like a dream doesn't it? Meanwhile, down in the AHL...

Ref leaves game after taking puck to face

Referee Kelly Sutherland left Wednesday's game between the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers when he was hit in the face by a puck. Sutherland was hurt just over 5 1/2 minutes into the first period when he was struck by a deflection off a slap shot from Buffalo's Jordan Leopold. He appeared wobbly and had to be assisted off the ice after being treated by a trainer.

Sabres, Habs chirp about who got their asses kicked more by the bWo

You know ****'s bad when your chances of making it in the playoffs are in the gutter. But **** gets downright hilarious when those teams start using the Boston Bruins as a centering point for their trash talking.Last night our old friends the Buffalo Sabres and the Montreal Canadiens faced off and things got a little intense towards the end of the game. Some choice words were...

The Sabres and Canadiens both won their final games before the All-Star break and the disappointing Northeast Division foes will try to keep heading in the right direction when they clash tonight at Montreal's Bell Centre.
