DET (23-12-1) visit CHI (23-10-4) in the first of their six meetings this season.  The ‘Hawks are tied with VAN for the most points in the league (50), the Wings have 47 and a game in hand. CHI enter this game 13-3-3 at the United Center (best in league home record) but had a season-best five-game home win streak snapped Wednesday with a 2-0 loss to Los Angeles.  CHI has scored 67 goals at home, tied for the second-most in the league and three behind DET. For the Wings to win tonight, they have to slow down CHI (and kill a damn penalty), Lidstrom:  “You try to slow them down in the neutral zone, try to be close to them, not back up and give them a big gap. Forwards have to back-check and help out and put pressure on them.” DET are 9-10 on the road, getting to .500 will be a challenge, but should be fun.  LGRW Continue reading "GDT - Game #37:  Red Wings at ‘Hawks (8:30)"
