It’s easy to see that in that early this season that Penguins starting goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury isn’t playing to his full potential, and as a result coaches, players and fans have lost confidence in him.
It’s easy to see why everyone is losing patience with the once popular Fleury. He has posted some of the worst numbers of any goalie in the NHL with a save percentage of .853 and a GAA of 3.54 while posting only one win in seven starts. In his most recent start, Bylsma pulled him for Brent Johnson less than half way through the first prior after giving up a pair of weak goals.
The early finish to Fleury’s evening tells me that Bylsma has no confidence in his goaltender, but who can blame him? At this point I don’t think anyone can even justify sending Fleury out to start. Especially with Johnson playing as well as he ever has in his career.
