The Nashville Predators lost center Marcel Goc to free agency on Friday afternoon. Goc signed a three-year deal with the Florida Panthers worth 1.7 m per season.
Goc, who signed with Nashville late in the off season in 2009, played two seasons for the Predators and was a fan favorite.
Last season, Goc played only in 51 games and had injuries to both his right and left shoulder. Scoring 9 goals and adding 15 assists, Goc is a solid third line center who is an ace in the faceoff circle.
The Calw, Germany native is 27 years old. Before coming to Nashville, the first round draft pick (20th overall) played for the San Jose Sharks.
The Panthers also signed former Predator Scottie Upshall to a 4 year deal worth $14 million.
