Defenseman Eric Gryba will be in the Ottawa Senators' lineup for Game 4 against the Montreal Canadiens. Senators coach Paul MacLean said after the morning skate that Gryba will suit up Tuesday night, with Ottawa leading the first-round series 2-1. The bruising defenseman was suspended for the last two games for his hit on Montreal center Lars Eller in Game 1. Eller was sent to hospital with a concussion, broken nose and lost teeth. He remains out of the Canadiens' lineup. Montreal coach Michel Therrien and a number of his players were incensed after the hit, sparking an exchange of words in which Montreal's Brandon Prust called MacLean ''a bug-eyed, fat walrus.''

Habs Fans Probably Haven’t Forgiven Eric Gryba Yet

The Senators’ Eric Gryba will return tonight from a two game suspension when the Habs take on the Canadiens in Game 4.  The series is as heated as it gets, and it seems like some Habs fans still haven’t fully forgiven Gryba for THIS HIT.  The two teams definitely don’t like each other, especially following this line brawl in Game 3.  #bbpBox_331860400532488192 a { text-decoration...

Canadiens, Senators brawl during Game 3

The Montreal Canadiens-Ottawa Senators rivalry has been growing by the second ever since Eric Gryba lit up Lars Eller.  After the Senators managed to gain a 5-1 lead, the Canadiens let their frustrations get the better of them in game three.  Unfortunately for them when they started this line brawl they figured they would win, but they thought wrong.  The Senators dusted them...

No supplemental discipline for Montreal Canadiens or Ottawa Senators after brawl

The only person missing from the Ottawa Senators thrashing of the Montreal Canadiens was WWE chairman/mouthpiece Vince McMahon. It is true that these are two teams that hate each other with a passion that is usually limited to a blood feud. However, what erupted in the third period that contest was downright ugly. Please click here to read this extensive story which features multiple...

Turris OT goal gives Sens 3-1 lead

Kyle Turris scored 2:32 into overtime Tuesday night, lifting the Ottawa Senators past the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 to grab a 3-1 lead in their playoff series. Turris' shot from the sideboards sneaked past Montreal backup goalie Peter Budaj, who came on for the injured Carey Price at the start of overtime. WATCH: Pageau loses tooth, scores hat trick in Sens win

Jean-Gabriel Pageau made a name for himself last night with his first playoff Hat Trick of his career against the Montreal Canadiens. Pageau, who was born in Ottawa but raised in Hull Quebec, scored his first goal in the 2nd period to break a 1-1 tie, his 2nd goal, a wicked wrister over Carey Price, made it 3-1. Then in a veteran move, Senators captain Daniel Alfredson passed the...

Senators-Canadiens Line Brawl Highlights Wild Third Period in Game 3 of Series (Video)

Canadiens-Senators, despite featuring two Canadian teams from the same difference, doesn’t have the same reputation as a rivalry as, say, Maple Leafs-Canadiens. That might change after Sunday night in Ottawa. The Sens and the Habs locked horns in a wild affair that the Sens ended up winning 6-1. The game unraveled quickly for Montreal midway through the third, and that’s when...

TiqIQ Ticket Preview: Senators vs. Canadiens

by Eli Epstein, TiqIQ If teams hadn’t gotten the point yet, they’re certainly getting it now: Don’t doubt the Ottawa Senators, at any cost. Montreal is learning this lesson the hard way. Through four games, the historic Habs are down three games to one to a team that was discarded as a hodgepodge of minor league have-nots during the regular season and then again as cobbled...

Ottawa wins brawl-filled Game 3, goes up 2-1 over Montreal

Ottawa won a brawl-filled game 6-1 against Montreal Sunday night, giving the Sens a 2-1 lead in the series. Ottawa's Jean-Gabriel Pageau, scoring his first career playoff goal, gave the Senators a 2-1 lead early in the second as he slipped between defensemen P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov to beat Carey Price over the shoulder. The Sens never looked back after that. Pageau is...

Several Canadiens-Senators Players get Into Fight During Playoff Game (Video)

If you ask me, hockey fights are a pointless endeavor, a lot of the times they’re forced and not that entertaining. But, it’s a part of the culture and probably won’t stop anytime soon, so why fight it? (no pun intended). During Game 3 of the first-round match between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators in the NHL Playoffs, a brawl broke out on the ice and every...

Crazy Line Brawl Breaks Out In Senators-Canadiens Playoff Game

It’s not often that you see a line brawl in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but tensions have been growing between the Senators and Canadiens ever since Eric Gryba took out Lars Eller in Game 1. Ottawa’s Zach Smith crosschecked Ryan White right off the face-off and that’s when all hell broke loose. 19 players had penalties in the third period alone. Here’s a look at the Habs bench...
