PLAYERS: Carl Hagelin
TEAMS: New York Rangers
Dan Rosen at NHL.com talks with Carl Hagelin about being goalless in the playoffs..."We haven't scored that many goals in general, but that's the way we play. We want to make sure we play well defensively. I feel strong and I feel I'm in condition. It's just that getting that goal would be nice."My mindset is to always keep working hard and good things will happen, so hopefully I get one here soon. If not, the most important thing is that we win games."...Hagelin's importance to this team isn't scoring goals. His work getting to pucks and digging them out of the corners for Richards and Gaborik is what makes him so effective. His speed also opens up space for his linemates....having said that, with the Rangers struggling to find the back of the net in this series, it would be nice to see Hags chip a few in....to be honest until I read this I didn't realize Hagelin hadn't scored yet in the playoffs.Remember to follow me on Twitter & ...

Should the Rangers Target Ovechkin?

My answer is an overwhelming YES. And no I don't mean send Mike Rupp out there to fight him. What I'd like to see the Rangers do is hit him everytime he's near the puck. Make life miserable for him. With the exception of the Marc Staal hit, they haven't done that at all this series.Very reminscent of last series, when they said they were going to be physical with...

Pregame: Rangers and Caps Set to Faceoff in Series-Altering Game 5

Based on how momentum has swung from night to night in this series, winning tonight does...

John Tortorella's game 4 post game presser a bit like an SNL skit

John Tortorella's post-game press conference behavior never gets old. Not even sure yesterday's, following the Rangers' 3-2 loss to the Caps, was his shortest at 35 seconds start to finish. Game... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Staal Feeling Better & Better

After scoring the game winner in overtime last night, Marc Staal addressed his recovery from post concussion syndrome with Katie Strang at ESPN NY..."I'm certainly feeling better and better. Morning Skate Notes: Zucc Skates; Caps Harder Than Sens; Hatred

The Rangers held a full practice this morning to prep for tonight's Game 5 at the Garden. Mats Zuccarello skated before the practice. Brandon Dubinsky did not.Katie Strang at ESPN NY reports that John Tortorella noted that Zuccerallo is not a possibility for tonight....it's too bad, because the Rangers could use him on the power play, big time.Meanwhile, the Washington Post...

Have the Capitals figured out Lundqvist?

The old book on Henrik Lundqvist was always to shoot high glove side. It was Hank’s biggest weakness, and was exploited a few years ago by Sergei Fedorov when the Capitals completed their comeback in the playoffs after being down 3-1 in the series. Fedorov’s goal was high glove side from a decent angle, and was a shot that a lot of people would have liked to see stopped. It seems...

The Garden Was Loud Last Night

Pat Leonard at the Daily News has this quote from Ryan Callahan about the atmosphere in the Garden during the final minute..."Twenty seconds left, they're standing up chanting, 'Let's Go Rangers.' That fuels you. That makes you feel good. To be able to get that one for them and hear the Garden explode - I haven't heard it that loud since I've been here...

Officiating Is Killing Hockey But Stop Blaming It For Losses

It’s no secret the refereeing has been inconsistent at best throughout the playoffs. You don’t just see it with the Rangers, you see it in every game. One can argue it’s why we saw some of the nastiness in the first round of the playoffs. But something that has been driving me insane is how [...]
