ST. LOUIS St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the club placed goaltender Jaroslav Halak on injured reserve today. Halak suffered a lower body injury last Friday, Feb. 1 at Detroit. In addition, the Blues recalled goaltender Jake Allen from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen. Halak, 27, has appeared in five games this season posting a 3-0-0 record including a 2.10 goals against average, .889 save percentage and a league leading two shutouts. The 511, 182-pound goaltender is the only goalie in the NHL with at least three wins and no losses. The Bratislava, Slovakia native was originally drafted by Montreal in the ninth round (271st overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft. Allen, 22, has appeared in 31 games for the Rivermen this season posting a 12-16-2 record including a 2.94 goals against average, .903 save percentage and two shutouts. The 62, 200-pound goaltender set Rivermen records for wins (24), minutes played (2,805), saves (1,306) and shutouts (6) during the 2010-11 season. The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was drafted by the Blues in the second round (34th overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.
