PLAYERS: Jori Lehtera
TEAMS: St. Louis Blues
After months of being locked out, the NHL is finally almost ready to resume play. For those puckheads who can't wait until Saturday, here is some hot ice action from Mother Russia and the KHL All Star game where Jori Lehtera shows off during the shoot-out contest.  Normally players like to take their best whack at the puck, but the Finnish centerman goes a different route, opting for a less-is-more approach. A 2008 draft pick of the St. Louis Blues, Lehtera is yet to ply his trade on this side of the Atlantic but with moves like this that may soon change.  Hockey! **** YEAH!

Blues feel shortened schedule will be an advantage

ST. LOUIS - A six-day training camp, no preseason games and six games in nine days to start the regular season would seem to be a tough situation for teams to face as the NHL schedule kicks off on Saturday. The St. Louis Blues feel it plays right into their hands. A team that returns their coach, both goalies, virtually their entire lineup from last year and the momentum from winning...

Unbelievable KHL All-Star Penalty Shot

Jori Lehtera put an end to the “you miss 100% of the shots you never take” motivational garbage. Lehtera took a gamble and scored on goaltender Rastislav Staňa during the 2013 KHL All-Star Game in Chelyabinsk on Sunday without even shooting the puck. Watch the video and imagine how foolish Rastislav Staňa must have felt [...]

St. Louis Blues sign GM Doug Armstrong to 5-year extension

Sometimes Twitter finds Wings news for me, and sometimes it finds something completely different. Per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford, the Blues have made a big personnel move in terms of their front office, inking GM Doug Armstrong to a 5-year contract extension: The Blues have locked up the NHL’s reigning general manager of the year with a long-term contract...

Goal of the year? '08 Blues pick dazzles in KHL ASG

The NHL regular season is just a few days away, but we might have already seen the best goal of the year. During Sunday's Kontinental Hockey League All-Star game, 2008 Blues draft pick and Sibir Novosibirsk forward Jori Lehtera left goalie Rastislav Stana completely flummoxed with his incredible penalty shot goal. Here's hoping the NHL brings us some more incredible goals...

Matthew Barry: MY PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEST!

1) ST. LOUIS BLUES – Simply put, they’re going to run over everyone like an 80 year old with a drug habit and a drivers license. Halak is healthy, they gained valuable playoff experience and if it not for Elliott melting down like the Wicked Witch of the West against the Kings, Halak would have taken them to the finals. Their coach rocks and I doubt they lose 15 games all...
