If you watched the HBO 24/7 Road to the Winter Classic mini series last year, then you know that New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist is a fantastic guitar player. It appears that the writers over on Jimmy Fallon had the brilliant idea to have him come out and play a bit of the Guns N’ Roses classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine” to commemorate the end of the NHL Lockout. Training Camp will begin on Sunday, and games will begin January 19th.[YouTube]

So long Wade.
One day after we discussed how Wade Redden might need to be an emergency call up if the injuries mount, Larry Brooks noted that the Rangers will ask Redden to sit the season out:
It appears Wade Redden will sit out the season at home at the Rangers’ request in order to ensure he does not get hurt and thus jeopardize the planned postseason compliance buyout of the...
Per Bob McKenzie, the Rangers have agreed to terms with RFA defenseman Michael Del Zotto. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Del Zotto will be in camp today. MDZ was priority number one for the Rangers in their “preseason” agenda.
We will post more updates as they become available.
This is the last thing I will write about this lockout: Thank god it’s finally over. With the season just days from beginning our New York Rangers enter as one of the prohibitive favorites to win it all. They return one of the best goalies in the world in Hank. Their defense corps boasts one [...]
The New York Rangers have given permission to Wade Redden's agent to talk to other NHL teams to try to arrange a trade, the New York Post's Larry Brooks reported. Redden, a defenseman, has two years remaining on a six-year, $39 million deal, but he spent the past two seasons in the minors and is not in the Rangers' plans. from Larry Brooks of the NY Post,
This is the organization Rangers fans have dreamed of for generations — one that is rich in blue-blooded, blue-collar laborers who come to work with a single-minded sense of purpose that honors the season ticket-holders who pay the very expensive freight.
In New York, we expect our top athletes to make top dollar. All we expect in return...
These are the exact words that can be used to describe New York Rangers' defenseman Michael Del Zotto's new two-year deal with the club.
There is no doubting Del Zotto's offensive skills. Last season, Del Zotto was fifth on the team in the regular season with 41 points (10 goals and 31 assists) while adding another 10 (2 goals and 8 assists) in 20 postseason games....

...had to assume this would get done this morning. Tough to comment without knowing the terms, but I can say that I'm glad to see Del Zotto back. Despite...
