I personally don’t think that this should have been called as a penalty shot, but there have been a lot more penalty shots awarded this year than in years past. With a one-goal lead late in the game, Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin was given a penalty shot and boy did he ever take advantage of it. Sedin had been 0 for 3 in shootouts for his career, but this move he pulled on Nashville Predators goalie Chris Mason will have the media asking whether or not he should be taking more of them. Mason bit hard on the fake shot and his jock strap ended up in the rafters once Sedin pulled the puck back to his forehand.

Roberto vs. Cory
A great twist on a classic Vancouver Rivalry.
The 2 netminders Cory Schneider and Roberto Luongo both say the media has blown the ultra competitive rivalry between the pipes over the top. The two netminders have some fun for the camera, caught on You Tube.

The goalie situation in Vancouver is anything but settled, what with Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider going back and forth as the number one netminder on the club. As it stands Schneider and Luongo have nearly split the goaltending duties right down the middle, appearing in 14 and 12 games respectively. Despite this ongoing competition, the two happen to be quite friendly, as evidenced...
The Vancouver Canucks goalie situation has been talked about often ever since Corey Schneider replaced Roberto Luongo in the playoffs last year. After deciding to keep Luongo for the time being, he ended up replacing Schneider when Schneider didn’t play well to start the year.
The two are friends off the ice which makes things much easier for them, and this video with TSN’s...
4 Game Home Stand Begins vs. Predators
Well, on paper, the Vancouver Canucks three game road trip was not a total disaster! Three points in two games against Columbus helped them garner three of a possible six points during the three game road swing. The Canucks return home Thursday to face a Nashville Predators team that has had as much trouble scoring goals as the Canucks as...
Home, Sweet Home
The Vancouver Canucks are back at home to start a four game home stand against the Nashville Predators. The Canucks are fresh off of a win in a shootout against the Columbus Bluejackets that snapped the teams four game losing streak and helped salvage the teams three game road trip.
The Predators on the other hand are also coming off a win over the Dallas Stars have...
from Luke Fox of Sportsnet,
When you think Vancouver and millionaires and Stanley Cup finals, who comes to mind?
Seems fitting that the Canucks’ $64-million man, Roberto Luongo, and his team will be wearing the awesome Vancouver Millionaires throwback uniforms on Saturday as the team hosts the Detroit Red Wings.
The Vancouver Millionaires, who wore maroon and...
Andrew Ebbett and Jannik Hansen both had a goal and two assists as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Nashville Predators 7-4 on Thursday night.
Alex Edler, Mason Raymond, Max Lapierre, Henrik Sedin on a penalty shot, and David Booth, into an empty net, also scored for the Canucks, who won their second straight. Roberto Luongo finished with 29 saves.
Ebbett, who has split time this...
The Vancouver Canucks finally snapped out of their scoring slump, but their power-play unit hasn't come through in quite some time.
They're hoping Roberto Luongo can do a better job of keeping the visiting Detroit Red Wings from scoring Saturday night as he gets an opportunity to redeem himself from a rough performance last month.
Vancouver (13-7-6) has won two straight...
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader both scored two goals, and the Detroit Red Wings surged past the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 on Saturday night.
Zetterberg broke out with his first goals in 11 games, dating to the Red Wings' 8-3 rout of Vancouver in Detroit on Feb. 24.
Daniel Cleary also scored for the Red Wings (14-10-5), who earned their...
By: Miranda Martin Miranda@PredneckNation.com With the Nashville Predators taking yet another loss against the Vancouver Canucks 7-4 Thursday night, there will likely be another big shakeup to the lineup. In all honesty, there were some very positive highlights to the loss, more so than usual. Even without Colin Wilson and Patric Hornqvist, the offense was able to score 4 goals ...
I made my first coach of the year pick this season about a month ago. It was Barry Trotz of the Nashville Predators. I feel that he is a top coach and has been a top coach for years and it is a shame that he has not won the Jack Adams Trophy as coach of the year in the process. He has done a wonderful job with the Predators and has not has his due in terms of awards.
While they've had trouble getting consistent efforts lately, the Nashville Predators dominated the Edmonton Oilers earlier this month.
The Predators will try avoid a third straight loss and reverse their road woes by beating the Oilers again Sunday night.
Nashville (11-11-6) has lost six of its last eight overall, but it hardly looked like a struggling team when it hosted Edmonton...

The Nashville Predators lost to the Calgary Flames 6-3 Friday night, leaving the Predators without a point in the past two games. Scoring is no longer the entire issue for the Predators, but rather defense. “Right now defensively, weren’t not very good,” said Mike Fisher.
Not too many people would think the defense would...
