Word tonight that sometime in the next day or so Manny Malhotra will arrive at San Jose's training camp. I don't think the Oilers ever had a chance to have Malhotra attend their training camp over a team like San Jose, but I think it's reasonable to argue that the Oilers could have signed him to an NHL contract if they'd chosen to pursue him.We spent most of the summer following the Heatley soap opera and then were told time and again there was no room for a Blair Betts because the Oilers had no cap room.
