In week three of the AHL season the Hogs went 2-2 winning 5-3 on against the Chicago Wolves, as well as winning their home opener 5-4 against Grand Rapids in a SO. On Friday Rockford wrapped up their season opening five game raod trip with a tilt against the Chicago Wolves in a Illinois Lottery Cup matchup. The Hogs would open up the game with a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play with goals from Terry Broadhurst, Jermey Morin and Jimmy Hayes. In the second the Wolves would get back into this matchup with a full strength goal by T. Shattock, a shorty from A. Bulduc and a powerplay goal by E. Oberg. But it would the Hogs getting the last punch with defensemen Klas Dahlbeck scored at 18:29 set up by Brad Winchester and Jeremy Morin, with Mark McNeil getting the empty netter to seal the deal. Easy goal for Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews eh? I would imagine that this flukey goal will create a buzz on the internet in the near future.
