Rangers_goalie_lundqvist_295a
That is what the New York Rangers continue to do as the team picked-up a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators last night at Madison Square Garden. Due to playing in a hockey game of my own, I was not able to catch any of the game. With that said, it was nice to see Henrik Lundqvist get another shutout and the team come out with a much better defensive performance than they did against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday night in Montreal. It was also nice to see that John Mitchell scored another goal for the Blueshirts. No one really knew whether or not Mitchell would fit in with this Rangers’ team but he has come in and gotten the job done by working hard every night, forechecking hard, going to the net and cashing in on opportunities when they present themselves. This is a team that continues to show that it can respond well after a loss. Too many times in the past few seasons would the Rangers follow up a loss with another bad game but this season, team head coach John Tortorella...

Rangers end Preds' run at 5 with 3-0 win (AP)

After Henrik Lundqvist and his teammates bounced back from a modest slump by shutting out the Nashville Predators, New York Rangers owner James Dolan decided to say what's been on his mind for a while: his club is Stanley Cup title material. "I think we're pretty close to getting that back," Dolan said after the Rangers beat Nashville 3-0 Tuesday night.

Tuesday’s Three Stars: Lundqvist stops all; Parenteau scores twice for Islanders

No. 1 Star: Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers With no Ryan Suter and no Pekka Rinne, the Nashville Predators weren't quite themselves, falling 3-0 on goals by Dan Girardi, John Mitchell, and Ryan Callahan. That said, it might not have mattered on this night. Lundqvist was unbeatable, making 27 saves for his fourth shutout of the season. No. 2 Star: Ilya Kovalchuk, New Jersey...

Postgame: Mental Errors Cost Rangers in Loss to Pens

After last Sunday’s 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, despite the obscenity of it, you could say that the New York Rangers were still in first place so it was a game that the team could just put behind them and move on. While the Blueshirts will want to do the same after tonight’s loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden, there still has to be a little...

Some post-game interviews

Had some technical difficulties with my story, and with my recorder. So all I’ve got in the way of post-game audio is a short Dan Girardi/Henrik Lundqvist interview and the John Tortorella presser. John Tortorella: Dan Girardi/Henrik Lundqvist:

Rangers Stymie Predators in 3-0 Win

The Nashville Predators headed into New York to play the Rangers, who have the best record in hockey, without two members of their "big three" and the result was somewhat predictable. The Predators five game winning streak was snapped in a 3-0 loss.Henrik Lundqvist put on a perfect performance, stopping all 27 Predator shots. Dan Girardi, John Mitchell, and Ryan Callahan...

SORRY ABOUT THAT! … Penguins at Rangers tonight

We had a major outage of all of our LoHud blogs last night, as I’m sure you are all aware. So apologies all around. Just glad it wasn’t my fault. I worried that maybe I pushed a wrong button or something, you know, being the techno wizard that I am. ************************* Anyway, here are the belated pre-game notes, courtesy of the Rangers: NEW YORK RANGERS vs. PITTSBURGH...

Rangers/Predators In Review

This, as expected, was a relatively boring game. The Predators ran their 1-2-2/1-4 trap to perfection, but the Rangers were able to adjust to a dump and chase and generate some goals off board play. In the end, it was a grind it out game that had the Rangers emerge victorious, with another shutout for Henrik Lundqvist. This was a very important win for the Rangers who had lost two...
