(Photo by Jana Chytilova/Getty Images) With the Minnesota Wild in a slump currently, they are looking to backup goaltender Josh Harding to turn their lack of momentum around. Usual starter Nicklas Backstrom has been playing nothing more than mediocre so far. Harding is looking for a chance, possibly his only one of the season, to become the full-time starter for the Wild for the remainder of the season. Going off the ice for a bit; during the NHL lockout, Josh Harding announced to the public that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis during the summer. Multiple sclerosis affects the brain and spinal cord. Harding saw the Wild team doctor complaining about dizziness, vision problems and numbness in his leg. However, Harding doesn't want fans to feel bad for him, but rather treat him the same as any other goaltender in the league. "I don't want people treating me different, I don't want people feeling bad for me, I don't want people moping around. I want this to be a story where when we look back, it was a happy story." Now, back to the analysis of Harding's play. The Minnesota goaltender is different than most. Many goalies are "regular" with the glove on the left hand, including both Nashville Predators goaltenders and Backstrom. Instead, Harding plays a southpaw style with the glove on his right. This can be confusing for opponents and may take a while for the snipers of the league to adjust and pick the right place to score. Here is how to beat Josh Harding. Rebounds are there!: Harding has a rebound control issue. If there is a hard, low shot on net,  a player should be crashing the net for rebounds.      Glove Side: Harding's glove is okay, but can be scored on by any accurate scorer.   Josh Harding's career vs Nashville Name W L OT SO SV % GAA #37 Josh Harding 4 5 1 0 .906 2.88 Josh Harding's 2012-13 stats Name W L OT SO SV % GAA #37 Josh Harding 1 1 0 1 .885 2.92

Setoguchi's first goal gives Wild big lift

ST. PAUL, Minn. Devin Setoguchi was almost on one knee as he let the shot go and then he dropped to both knees and thrust his arms in the air. The relief from Setoguchi, the Minnesota Wild forward who had been dropped to the fourth line earlier this week, and the rest of his team was let out with one big goal. Setoguchi, as much as any other Minnesota forward, has represented the...

How to Beat the Goalie: Backstrom

Read the quick bit on how to beat Niklas Backstrom by clicking "Read More".  More to come... Here is How to Beat Niklas Backstrom. Brad Ratgen: I Hate the Wild, I Hate the Wild, I Hate the Wild!!!!!!

Ok, not really. But, I thought it would only be fair since I was Canuck bashing yesterday. And, I have had it with this team already!!!! Brutal, brutal, brutal performance last night. I feel bad for Setoguchi. He couldn't buy a goal if Zach Parise and Ryan Suter were bank rolling it for him. And then, reading the comments after the game. Every so often, a reader is reading...

Canucks vs. Minnesota Wild: Taming the Wild

Love ‘Em & Hate ‘em Boxscore | Recap Definitely wouldn’t want to be a Wild fan right now. Their two big off-season acquisitions haven’t changed anything in Minnesota. It’s the same old bland brand of hockey. The Canucks meanwhile are now off to their best start in eight years, so there’s that. Love ‘Em 1. Stellar Schneider It’s been a long time since Cory Schneider...

That, however, is likely what they'll be up against Saturday night when they host the Nashville Predators.
