Carolina Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford admitted the obvious after the team fell for the sixth time in seven games - but he stopped short of making any public decisions.
"That was a very bad game," Rutherford said after the Hurricanes dropped a 4-0 decision to the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
“I am looking at everything (but) no decisions have been made. I have a lot of ideas in my head but I have not come to any conclusions yet.”
Perhaps those decisions will be made after Friday's game against the Buffalo Sabres (11-7-0).
Carolina (6-10-3) has been getting torched by opponents after yielding 3.47 goals and 33.1 shots per contest this season.
Maurice has been fired before by the Hurricanes - in 2003 - and knows he's under the microscope.
