Not many people can take down Zdeno Chara, so when the try, it tends to be very entertaining. In a KHL game between HC Lev Praha and SKA Saint Petersburg, the 6-foot-9 Slovakian received his official welcome to Russia’s national league. Igor Makarov, a forward for SKA, left his skates and nearly caught Chara off guard at full speed in the hopes that he would put the Bruin captain on his back. But even with his best effort, Makarov was only able knock the big fella back and to his knees. Even better, the Russian forward ended up face planting behind the goal. Unfortunately it looks like Chara will be spending more time in Russia as NHL labor negotiations continue, but at least he's doing his best to keep Boston fans entertained. To see the Makarov’s best effort check out the video below.

Bruins' Julien to coach youth team

Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien will keep busy during the NHL lockout. Julien has agreed to coach a youth hockey team later this month to raise money for charity. The team will be chosen by a raffle. NHL owners have locked out the players for the third time since commissioner Gary Bettman took office in 1993, including a work stoppage that canceled the entire 2004-05 season....

Bruins' Tyler Seguin "Interview of the Week" With HC Beil

HC Beil conducted an interview with Tyler Seguin in their "Interview of the Week" segment on their website. Here a sample of the goodness from that interview (translated through Google Translate): Tyler, why have you just chosen the EHC Biel during the NHL lockout? When I found out that the lockout is fact, I did not wait long and wanted to play. At least for me it was...

Earlier today ESPN reported that Claude Julien will spend the lockout coaching a youth hockey team for charity.I love these stories when players and coaches go out and giving back to the community. The NHL has cancelled games up to October 24th which means that the Bruins opening night game in Philadelphia against the Flyers was told to go **** its face. The First Video is an interview that I saw from Barstool Sports. It is Tyler Seguin utterly confused by the Swiss people. The second is Chara being a tank as always. Happy first day of the season...oh wait that's right....
