Nightmare on Helm Street:
In 2008 the question on everyone’s mind regarding the 2010 NHL draft wasn't Taylor vs Tyler, it was Taylor vs Teemu.
Teemu Pulkkinen is a Finnish born winger playing for Jokerit of the SM-Liiga. He has been described as a “pure sniper” with “a great shot” and a “great release”, compared to Jari Kurri, and widely considered a top-10 pick in the draft.
During the 2006-07 season Pulkkinen scored 90 points (47 goals, 43 assists) in 22 games while playing for Jokerit U-16 team. the next year he would put up 60 (36 goals, 24 assists) in 32 games with the U-18 team, leading the way to the Taylor vs Teemu debate.

Lets jump into the DeLorean for a minute and go back to June 26th, 2010. The Detroit Red Wings are making the 111th selection in the 2010 draft, the player chosen is none other than Teemu Pulkkinen, not the 1st, not the 2nd, not even the 90th. How did the Red Wings, who seem to do this year after year with players like Zetterberg, Datsyuk...
BEST OF MAXIM
Very briefly: Two of the five Red Wings prospects who took part in the World Junior Championships have games left to play tomorrow.
Teemu Pulkkinen registered a goal and an assist in Finland’s wild 8-4 win over Slovakia, and while Marek Tvrdon scored a goal and an injured Tomas Jurco played through a hip flexor injury and added an assist, the Slovaks couldn’t handle the Finns’...
Well, Jimmy Howard (192,685 votes as a write-in, finishing sixth among goalies), Nicklas Lidstrom (476,979 votes, fourth among defensemen), Pavel Datsyuk (313,783, ninth among forwards) and Henrik Zetterberg (206,852 votes, 12th among forwards) didn’t make the All-Star Game’s starters’ cut, though it’s highly likely that Howard and Lidstrom will head to Ottawa via selections...

As the Detroit Red Wings embark upon a 4-game road trip (albeit one that will involve a trip back to Detroit to practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) with a game against the Dallas Stars tonight (8 PM EST, FSD/Vers…I mean the NBC Sports Network outside Michigan/WXYT), they face something of a puzzling opponent. While the Wings hope to better their 49 points and climb to within...
"One of the things Holmstrom provides -- everyone talks about his net-presence -- but he gets the puck back for you. So we’re one and done and we’re working on our breakouts right now." --Mike BabcockThat quote comes to us via Khan(!). Holmstrom, who has missed the past four games with a strained groin - will not be playing again tonight against the Dallas Stars...
Welll isn’t this interesting in the Red Wings-related news category, via AnnArbor.com’s Pete Cunningham:

Everyone knows that the Detroit Red Wings want to host the Winter Classic, the NHL's annual outdoor game. And it's generally believed that they'll get it sooner than later.
DALLAS (AP) Jiri Hudler scored twice, linemate Valtteri Filppula added a goal and two assists, and the Detroit Red Wings hung
on to beat the Dallas Stars 5-4 on Tuesday night.
The remaining 36 All-Stars will be chosen later this month, and the two team rosters will be determined for a second straight year by the fantasy draft during All-Star weekend. Each team will have 12 forwards, six defensemen and three goalies.
Detroit will open a four-game road trip on Tuesday with a visit to Texas, where they'll face off against the Dallas Stars in NHL betting action. The Stars will be a favorite in this contest at home, where they have won three of four head-to-head.
The Red Wings have been spectacular at home with 12 straight victories, but they have lost six of their past nine...
