With that said, the trick for the Blueshirts when they come back from the All-Star break is to keep up their solid play. Too often has the league seen teams letup and while it creates for some intriguing hockey, this is not the position the Rangers should want to put themselves in.
All season long, team head coach John Tortorella has preached a one day or one game at a time motto. While it is easier said than done, especially considering the amount of success the Blueshirts have had this season, it is something that the team needs to live every single day.

Amid the Rangers stumbling offense and the awful nine game losing streak the Whale find themselves in down in the AHL, perhaps unnoticed to many, is the pending return of Mats Zuccarello. What can NHL do about concussion problem?
When New York Rangers forward Wojtek Wolski elbowed Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson in the head earlier this season, causing a concussion, NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan declined to suspend Wolski. Shanahan cited Wolskis clean track record and the specifics of the play, arguing that Wolski didnt see Alfredsson until the last minute, then tensed up to protect himself.

Gabby Gets a Little Confused During All Star Draft
Similar to last season, the NHL All Star Draft was highly entertaining and filled with suspense as we waited to see who would get Kessel'd this year. But the obvious highlight was Marian Gaborik mistakenly walking over to Team Alfredsson after being chosen by Team Chara. With the grin he shined afterward (see above pic), I wouldn't be surprised if he did that on purpose....
Callahan Disses @TheBroadwayHat
Last night, Ryan Callahan was awarded the Broadway Hat for his amazing efforts in the Rangers 3-0 victory over the Jets. But for some odd reason he chose not to wear it and instead stuck it in his locker.I know the hat has seen better days, but I've got to say it's a bit disappointing for the captain to dismiss something that's been used as a chemistry building tool for...
Lundqvist Rocks Out One Last Time Before All Star Game
The drummer of Henrik Lundqvist's band, Jay Weinberg, tweets this pic of the two of them along with third band member John McEnroe after practicing for the final time before the Rangers goaltender headed to the All Star Game in Ottawa yesterday......while Lundqvist looks the part of a rock 'n' roll icon, McEnroe just looks completely out of place. And I'm a fan of...
The Prospect Quagmire
As the trade deadline approaches, no time is more fun to play armchair GM. Its easy to swap underperforming players and picks like trading cards and instantly transform the team into a playoff power house. This enjoyable little exercise usually leads to us giving a deeper examination to the value of prospects and roster players we could see being moved for a deadline upgrade...

A few quick notes and quotes from tonight that weren’t in the notes sent out by teh team:
NOTES —
• Brian Boyle played just 11:49 tonight after twisting his right foot on a collision in the corner during the second period. It cost him to miss a good chunk of the period, but he returned and even killed penalties later in the game. Boyle had less ice time only four other...
Rangers-Jets review
Someone asked Henrik Lundqvist last night if he knew the Jets hadn’t won the second part of a back-to-back all season. He laughed and said he didn’t, then insisted it didn’t matter. Some team will always be the first, he said.
Despite sitting atop the Eastern Conference at the break, Lundqvist and the Rangers refuse to leave a stone unturned. The idea of Winnipeg, amidst a...
