Islanders captain John Tavares did not practice with the team Friday because of a lower-body issue and is day-to-day, coach Jack Capuano said. Capuano did not specify the nature of the lower-body injury, what caused it, when it occurred or if Tavares will play Saturday night at home against the Devils.
