The Blackhawks have already had several players make the trip from Rockford to Chicago and back again this season, but with the string of injuries, and stupidity, the team has endured recently, it looks like they’ll have to make a few more of those young additions.
Both Marcus Kruger and Steve Montador were sent to injured reserve on Wednesday. Kruger has been out with a concussion, while Montador has practiced sparingly with an upper body injury. Kruger had returned for one game, but, courtesy of Rick Nash, his concussion symptoms returned. He also had a setback in his recovery this week.
There’s also Daniel Carcillo, who looks like he’ll be out longterm, with a combination of injury and suspension. His hit on Tom Gilbert has earned him an indefinite suspension, while he hurt himself in the process. We still don’t know how serious that injury is.
