Yes, you read that correctly. Forward Erik Christensen made a very ambitionist-like comment in regards to tonight's rivalry game against the New York Islanders when talking with the media yesterday after practice. I know, that seems ironic since Christensen shows little life in each game he plays, but apparently matching-up against the Isles gets him going slightly more than other opponents.
"We try and get up for every game, and every game is two points, but the Islanders are our main rival, and going into their building is always intense. It's almost the same atmosphere as playing in our building. If you can't get up for this game there is something wrong with you."
In all honestly, I feel as if the Rangers' rivalry with the Philadelphia Flyers has reached new levels over the years and may have surpassed that of the Islanders, but that's probably a result of the nastiness and bitterness shown on the ice between the two clubs. In my eyes, the...
