Blake Wheeler came into the league with the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (5th overall) in the 2004 NHL Draft. Four years later Wheeler still had not yet come to a contract agreement with the Coyotes. Thus Wheeler became an unrestricted free agent and later signed an entry level contract with the Boston Bruins on July 1st, 2008. But since his rookie season, we have seen no improvements in Wheeler’s last two seasons. This was the probable cause for Wheeler getting trade to the Atlanta Thrashers last season (now the Winnipeg Jets). A Sort of Homecoming

The Winnipeg Jets have played 23 games so far this year, all but eight of which have been on the road. They’re set to settle in at the MTS Centre for most of December, with 13 of 15 games at home throughout the month. As a long-time Montreal Canadiens fan, I’m pretty pumped to have scored a pair of tickets to the December 22 game against the Habs (I tried, to no avail...

Literally one day ago, I wrote about how the most unfamiliar of faces - third-round pick and relative unknown Zack Smith - was playing the role of gamechanger for an Ottawa Senators team in dire need of another on-ice leader. Thursday’s Three Stars: Pavelec blanks Coyotes; Blue Jackets rally late

No. 1 Star: Ondrej Pavelec, Winnipeg Jets In the battle of the old Jets against the new Jets, Pavelec frustrated the Winnipeg Jets 1.0 with a 33-save performance during a 1-0 win over the Phoenix Coyotes to earn his second shutout of the season and eighth career.
