Chicago Blackhawks Hockey - Chicago Blackhawks coach, Joel Quenneville, was on 670 The Score’s Mac and Spiegs show this morning and brought to light some very interesting news for Blackhawks fans Quote via @JayZawaski670 “Quenneville on Teravainen joining Hawks this year : “He’s really progressed. Reports are excellent on his development. When their season’s over, he’s going to come down…come back here. our people believe that he can help us. So we look forward to getting that opportunity. Will there be time in the regular season to get a look at him or will we have to wait to see in the playoffs. We look forward to having a chance & at what point that remains to be seen.” Whoa…..Blackhawks fans have heard nothing but good things about the 19 year old, Finnish star, Teuvo Teravainen and now will get the chance to see what he can do on this side of the ocean. Teuvo Teravainen Can Play For those of you who don’t know who Teuvo Teravainen is let us get you all caught up. Teuvo was the Blackhawks first round pick in the 2012 entry draft (18th overall) and when that happen most “experts” thought that was an absolute steal for the Blackhawks. Since being drafted Teuvo has been playing in Finland in the SM-liiga league for Jokerit and here is his stat line from there…. 31 points in 44 games is not to shabby. Besides playing well for Jokerit Teravainen has had some international success as well vs. top tier competition at his age level. In the most recent World Junior Championships Teuvo was named captain of the Finnish Team, where he lead the team to a Gold Medal and was the overall point leader in the tournament. The Highlight Reel Teravainen is a small, fast, skilled centerman whose play has drawn comparisons to Chicago’s own Patrick Kane. Take a look… Where Does Teuvo Fit In? Q’s comments on the radio today started a firestorm of questions from fans; Will he go to Rockford? Will he just be a “Black Ace” and is here to just get a taste of life as a NHL’er? Will he play second line center and be on the same line as Kane? All valid questions. Most believe if Teuvo is on the bench for Q he will be playing and playing on the top 6. Bringing Teuvo over now makes the Blackhawks silence at the trade deadline make even more sense. Ah Ha!!! Once again Bowman had a bigger plan that us the fans had no clue about. Fans are Excited Chicago Blackhawks fans should be excited to hear this news. The Blackhawks are already a top team in the NHL and now they are getting (hopefully) a top young talent brought over to help them with their Stanley Cup defense. Obviously no one really knows how or if Teuvo will play once at the NHL level, but it is fun to think of a line of Saad, Teuvo and Kane flying around the ice.   Photo Sources: Jay Zawaski, Wikipedia Author informationMatt ZawaskiManaging Media Editor at Sports MockeryQuestions or comments please contact info@sportsmockery.com - Thank You for readingTwitterFacebookGoogle+The post Is it Teuvo Time in Chicago? appeared first on Sports Mockery.
