With the NHL trade deadline just weeks away, there is only one thing you can be sure of –a lot of players will be wearing new uniforms. The NHL trade deadline is always the most active of all the American sports because teams are always looking to add that extra presence to their roster or the upcoming playoff push.  Every year there are plenty of rumors and big names that get tossed around, and if there is one thing we have learned in recent years, it is that Penguins GM Ray Shero is not afraid to make a big time move to better his roster.
But does he need to this year?
Perhaps. A lot of that depends on the teams health moving forward. With a healthy Crosby, I can’t imagine that any moves are required. The Penguins at full strength have plenty of skill and depth to make a deep playoff push. It’s more of a matter of just piecing it all together at the right time. But what if Crosby isn’t back, what then?

Crosby returns to Penguins practice
Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby returned to practice Monday, but there is still no timetable for when the former MVP will return from a neck injury.
The 24-year-old skated with his teammates in Montreal for the first time since being forced out of the lineup in early December following a brief return. He has been skating on his own in recent weeks.

Molinari on the Penguins: Crosby's playing style unlikely to change
It would make sense, of course. When a guy's medical records from a 13-month period look like Sidney Crosby's do, making a few adjustments might seem prudent. Might seem, for example, like a good time to spend some more time out on the perimeter.
Fleury, Penguins frustrate Bruins
BOSTON (AP) Marc Andre-Fleury hardly looked like a goalie who had just finished a highly intense third period.

STATS: The inevitable Paul Martin vs Sergei Gonchar comparsion
This one is tough. Gonch was an aging defenseman. He came off a not-so solid playoff ( see Travis Moen's goal in game 7)
Paul Martin was the puck moving defenseman from the New Jersey Devils. He was younger, much less of a risk.

Fleury, Penguins up to Boston challenge, win 2-1
TD Garden is not the most hospitable venue in the NHL. The team that resides there is big, tough and talented, and fans can be pretty hostile at times. Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is aware of all that. Probably more than most.

Penguins successful elements disappear in defeat
NEWARK, N.J. -- The Penguins won't have to conduct an in-depth evaluation to figure out what went wrong in this one.
Not when their No. 1 goalie -- the guy who has been so good, for so much of this season -- was out of the game in less than 23 minutes.
Brodeur, Devils rely on winning formula in victory over Penguins
The Penguins have lost seven of eight games at Prudential Center and have scored 15 goals in their past 11 trips to New Jersey.
For Sid, misery does love company
He didn't look bad on a line with Steve Sullivan and Cal O'Reilly, even though he was playing out of position. He added a nice dimension to the No. 2 power play, as well, even though the second unit isn't exactly his natural habitat.
