After more than a season of numerous fans wondering how Randy Jones continued to have a roster spot with the Flyers, it sounds as if his career in Philly may be coming to an end. Anthony SanFillipo has tweeted that a team source tells him that Jones will be waived either today or tomorrow.
I've never really had a problem with Jones aside from his salary. I don't think he is half as bad as most of his detractors seem to, but particularly for a cash-strapped team, the flexibility provided by clearing his $2.75 million number for this year is more valuable than the difference between Jones and a high-level AHL d-man. More on this as we hear it.
