Pro Sports Daily:
New York Islanders right wing PA Parenteau suffered what appeared to be a serious injury to his left leg in Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Parenteau was hurt when Winnipeg defenseman Mark Stuart dove at him in an attempt to thwart a partial breakaway.
The defenseman's slide caused Parenteau's left ankle to buckle underneath Stuart's body.
Parenteau was unable to get to his feet or put any weight on the leg and had to be assisted by teammates off the ice and to the locker room.
The 29-year-old Parenteau entered Thursday's game with 18 goals and 49 assists for a career-high 67 points. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

To end the season, the NY Islanders will play two teams that are also not heading to the playoffs. However, while everyone will call them games that don't matter, I'm pretty sure they matter a lot to Matt Donovan who would love nothing better than to make a case for himself for next season.
The Islanders may not be heading to a post season, but Kevin Poulin and the Bridgeport...
