Visnovsky to Return? As I wrote yesterday the Kontinental Hockey League was expected to suspend Lubomir Visnovsky if he didn’t report to the New York Islanders’ training camp on Monday. As expected Visnovsky didn’t show up, instead he was seen on the bus with his KHL team on their way to Prague for their game tonight. A game that he will not be able to play in.Following his absence to the deadline the Islanders had set for him to report to camp, the KHL was forced to suspend him from playing another game in their league. The suspension will last until a resolution is found with the NHL and the Islanders. A solution that may have been found a lot sooner than may have been previously thought.Earlier tweeted Visnovsky’s agent tweeted that his client “looks forward to reporting to the New York Islanders after tending to “personal reasons” which have kept him from reporting.” Also earlier today, Arthur Stape, tweeted that these “personal reasons” may take up to 2-3 weeks to resolve, but a...

Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky apparently has given up his attempt to continue to play in Solvakia and will return to play for the New York Islanders, although it may be two or three weeks before he joins the NHL team. Late Tuesday, Visnovsky's agent, Neil Sheehy, confirmed on Twitter that Visnovsky, 36, will return to the Islanders after taking care of some personal situations...
New York Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky is still not with the Islanders, but he is not playing for HC Slovan either as the situation continues to be unsettled. The Islanders have already suspended Visnovsky for not showing up for camp and remaining overseas, but on Tuesday, the KHL rejected Visnovsky's request to sign a contract with the HC Slovan because of the...
The New York Islanders, one of few teams that made news during the NHL's lengthy lockout, hope to continue to ride the attention wave into the shortened season.
And maybe make the postseason along the way.
The Islanders, who announced in October that they will leave the Nassau Coliseum for Brooklyn and the new Barclays Center in 2015, haven't qualified for the playoffs...
My blog box buddies, Johnny Z from YesIslanders and Ken Dick from OkposoNet sat in the front row of the room waiting for Jack Capuano to arrive. The MSM, like Art Staple, took up a spot against the wall (as usual). I sat in the back (as usual).
Jack, wearing a suit that is obviously too big for him now that he has lost so much weight, made his way through the crowd and smiled at the media...
from Katie Strang of ESPN NewYork,
Veteran defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky will not be reporting to Islanders training camp Monday for "personal reasons," his agent told ESPNNewYork.com.
His agent, Neil Sheehy, said he did not know whether Visnovsky will remain with the KHL's Slovan Bratislava, where he played during the lockout.
Visnovsky issued a statement...

SYOSSET, N.Y – It was pretty easy to see the excitement on Jon Landry’s face when he was talking being invited to the New York Islanders Training Camp.
“It feels unbelievable,” he said beaming from ear to ear when asked about it. “It’s a dream come true to get to this level and hopefully I can earn a spot and prove to myself...
Veteran defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky was not with the New York Islanders for the first day of camp on Sunday and was not expected to attend Monday either, creating a problem for the Islanders. He was staying away on Monday for "personal reasons," according to ESPN. Visnovsky is with the KHL's Slovan Bratislava and plans to play in its game in Prague on Tuesday...
Itâs pouring rain on Long Island, but it could be worse. Itâs just funny that it always seems to rain on the Islandersâ parade. A free scrimmage between Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Islanders tonight at 7 pm and we get wet, slick roads. Thanks Mother Nature.
So whatâs going on? Well, strictly a technicality, but Jesse Joennsuu and Josh Bailey are suspended...
With the new Collective Bargaining Agreement having been ratified and signed, hockey is officially back. The New York Islanders prepare to make their season debut again the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. But the home opener won’t come without some drama added to the mix. Some may remember that early on in the 2012 NHL Draft the Islanders...
âBalls to the Wallâ
Thatâs the way Rick DiPietro described what this shortened season would be like.
I thought my two questions to ask the players were reasonable. But I forgot a few things. All I asked was âWhat are you looking forward to the most and what worries you the most about the shortened season?â
Well, I forgot that...
