Boston fans may still be a bit salty over how the trade deadline deal went down between the Bruins, Penguins and Jarome Iginla, but something tells us it won’t take like before the B’s faithful falls for the 17-year vet.
Iginla said on his introductory conference call that he likes Boston’s physical, aggressive style of play. He said he had narrowed all 30 teams down to the Bruins and Penguins as the trade deadline neared.
Iginla said he’s thrilled to be a part of the Bruins organization and called Boston an “amazing sports city.” He said he has a lot of respect for the current Bruins players and that he’s excited to join the team.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli stressed that the deadline deal didn’t change how he feels about Iginla as a player or a person.
