Jay McKee Signs With Pens For Peanuts

The Penguins announced that they have signed defenseman Jay McKee to a one year contract for a miserly $800,000. Not only did Ray Shero get the veteran defensive defenseman that was needed, he was able to sign him on the cheap.McKee was bought out of his contract by the St. Louis Blues and will be getting a decent sum of money from them. So I am guessing he figured he should take a shot at the cup rather than look for big money. At least this season.
