Just two short seasons ago, Washington Capitals defenseman, Jeff Schultz, had amazing numbers helping lead the Capitals to the President’s Trophy. Schultz posted 23 points (3 G, 20 A) and posted an amazing, and almost never heard of in the post-lockout era, plus 50 on the season. Now I’m not going to say Schultz was in the talks to be considered one of the best d-men in the league, but those numbers sure do speak for themselves. Then again you also have to think about the Capitals team from two seasons ago. The team put up 313 goals, the most scored in a season in the post-lockout era, and they also had an amazing 14 game winning streak that stretched from January 13 to February 7. Having reached 121 points by the end of the season, they were the first non-Original Six team to have reached the 120 point barrier.
