Anthony Peluso, 24, RW, 6'3, 235 lbs Last Year's Ranking: N/A This Year's Ranking: 22 Difference: 0   If the Jets ever needed an fighter/enforcer for the future, Anthony Peluso is a steal of a deal for the club.   Claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Blues on January 16, 2013, Peluso became a quick fan favourite - and he did it in only five games with the Jets.   Sure he broke his hand in a fight with Aaron Volpatti in early March, but hey, this guy was doing his job: fighting.   Chris Thorburn was the incumbent "tough guy" on the Jets and didn't really strike fear into anyone at all.  He was more of a fourth line role player who's role was to skate around and take up space on the ice.   With Anthony Peluso, his hulking 6'3, 235 pound frame was a little more apt to hit players and knock players around.   In junior hockey, Peluso was known for his grittyness, captuing 491 penalty minutes in only 246 games between the Erie Otters, Brampton Battalian, and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds from 2005-06 to 2008-09.   The Blues made him a sixth round pick (160th overall) in 2007 and he never played an NHL game until his five games as a Jet in 2012-13.   He stepped it up with two 100+ penalty minute seasons in Peoria with the Rivermen as a Blues prospect in both 2010-11 and 2011-12.   And even in his short five games with the Jets, Peluso chipped in with two assists, 14 penalty minutes, and a plus one rating.   Anthony Peluso comes in at number 22 because he fills a role the Jets need and he fulfills unlike the likes of James Wright or Eric Tangradi who are not suited for the role Peluso has for himself.   Look out Chris Thorburn, Anthony Peluso is aiming for your job.
