Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien was arrested on suspicion of boating while intoxicated.
Byfuglien refused a field sobriety test which led to his arrest in Hennepin County, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
The 26-year-old was brought to jail at approximately 11:10 p.m. and released a little more than three hours later, according to records.
Byfuglien collected 20 goals, 33 assists and 93 penalty minutes last campaign for the Atlanta Thrashers, who relocated to Winnipeg in the offseason.
