Brent Johnson gets the start tonight
The Pittsburgh Penguins meet the Florida Panthers tonight in the team’s 79th game of the season.
The Penguins currently sit four points back of the Philadelphia Flyers for the division lead. With four games remaining for each team, the Atlantic Division title is not mathematically out of the question for the Pens, but it remains a long shot to say the least.
However, the Tampa Bay Lightning sit just three points back of the Penguins for fourth in the East, and hold a game in hand.
The lowly Panthers present a good opportunity to give Marc-Andre Fleury a day off. Fleury has started seemingly the previous 25 games for the Pens, and deserves a rest.
With the playoffs right around the corner, the Penguins will have to get this offense going ASAP. The team has scored just six goals in its last five games, and the power play has gone just 3 for its last 64 chances, a disheartening 4.6%.
