Found July 09, 2012 on NY Rangers Blog:
First off, let me just give a huge thank you to Kevin for giving me the opportunity to be a part of THE place for all things New York Rangers on the Internet. It’s been a part of my daily routine for years and when Kevin announced he might shut down for good, I felt a part of me would be going away. This site spawned may of the others around that are read daily. So, that makes Kevin a pioneer. Simply put, he should be known as The Godblogger from here on out. For anyone who knows me, an introduction is not needed. For those who don’t, I’ve been an avid Rangers fan for as long as I can remember. I grew up during the Dark Ages of the Rangers franchise, having to endure Igor Ulanov getting burnt by Jeremy Roenick, Mike Richter tearing his ACL again and again towards the end of his career, seeing Mike York get traded for Tom Poti and, who can forget, signing Bobby Holik to a five-year, $45 million contract. I’ve also been lucky enough to write about the team as they've slowly come...

Could the Rangers experience a step back in 2012-2013?

Optimism over the state of the Rangers hasn’t been this high in over a decade, so fans are understandably spending much of their time brainstorming different scenarios that could put New York over the top in 2012-2013. The Blueshirts were just two wins away from a Stanley Cup Finals appearance last season, so there’s reason to believe that just a couple improvements could be...

The great debate: should the Rangers be willing to trade Derek Stepan for Bobby Ryan?

Though it has repeatedly been reported that GM Glen Sather considers Derek Stepan “untouchable,” that hasn’t stopped many from debating whether he should be included in trade offers for superstars like Rick Nash and Bobby Ryan. Anaheim is specifically seeking a #2 center-man as part of a package for Ryan and has almost certainly requested Stepan from the Rangers (if the Ducks...

Rangers Report | New York Rangers’ Perplexing Offseason Thus Far

Hockey This Week Hockey This Week New York Rangers’ Perplexing Offseason Thus Far We believe that, so far, the New York Rangers have made some poor moves this offseason. Report: Rangers Sign Jeff Halpern

In a surprising move late Tuesday night the Rangers made their fourth free agent signing of the summer, reportedly inking 36-year-old Jeff Halpern to a one-year deal. The big draw of Halpern (no pun intended) is that he won 58.4% of faceoffs in 2011-2012.  That was a major area of weakness for the Blueshirts a year ago. With Brad Richards, Derek Stepan and Brian Boyle already on...

Rangers Still Pursuing Shane Doan

Last week I reported that GM Glen Sather and the New York Rangers had sincere interest in Phoenix Coyotes captain and current unrestricted free agent Shane Doan. Regardless if the interest was mutual between the two parties, Doan, at the time, would not make a decision on whether or not he will be talking to teams other than the Coyotes about signing a contract that will last him...

The Domino Effect

What Happens Now? A year ago at this time, the New York Rangers had plenty of reason to be excited about the talent as well is depth that they had among their defensive corp. But yet here we are a year later and what was a strength is now a real concern. What the Rangers may or may not do this off-season might have changed when Dylan McIlrath underwent surgery for a dislocated...
