(Debora Robinson, NHLI via Getty Images) By Steve Palumbo (@StevePalumboNHL) Now that the NHL All-Star break has come and gone, the Anaheim Ducks and Jonas Hiller will try to resume their improbable, if not impossible run towards a Stanley Cup Playoff birth. The Ducks find themselves buried deep in the depths of the Western Conference basement; they trail the eighth seeded Minnesota Wild by 12 points with two games in hand. If Anaheim hopes to remain in contention and keep pace with the rest of the conference they will need to play almost flawless hockey from every position. None may not be quite as important, though, as the last line of defense: The goaltender. Hiller has started between the pipes in 42 of Anaheim’s 48 games, posting a modest 15-18-7 record. However, wins and loses only tell half the 29-year-old’s story, as the Swiss native has been the catalyst of his teams current 9-1-1 record over the last 10 games. In fact, he may have indirectly saved the season....

NHL Playoffs 2012: Are the Anaheim Ducks Ready for a Second Half Surge?

If the Anaheim Ducks’ recent history is any indication, the team’s best hockey is yet to be played. The post Stanley Cup era Ducks teams have more often then not waited until after the all-star break to make a serious push towards the playoffs. With the all star game now complete, and Corey Perry on his way back to Anaheim, we could be set to witness yet another second...

Video: Corey Perry breaks out mini stick

The breakaway challenge at the NHL's skills competition allows players to get creative, and Ducks winger Corey Perry took advantage of that luxury. Perry went up against St. Louis Blues netminder Brian Elliott during Saturday's event, and he decided to ditch his usual stick for something smaller. Much smaller. Perry skated in on Elliott and stopped halfway. He then busted...

Anaheim Ducks: Bruce Boudreau's Early Coaching Report Card

Bruce Boudreau wasn't out of a job for very long, due in part to the timing of Randy Carlyle being fired, and in part to his reputable resume and personality being known around the league. Coach Boudreau joined one of the most unsuccessful Anaheim Ducks campaigns of the last decade, inheriting a team that had spent almost the entire first half of the season competing with the...

Tuesday on FOX Sports Arizona: Coyotes vs. Ducks, 7 p.m.

The Anaheim Ducks and Phoenix Coyotes both sit on the outside of the Western Conference playoff picture. While the Ducks - despite a terrific three-plus weeks - have a ways to go if they hope to climb their way back into the postseason race, the Coyotes are one of a handful of teams vying for the West's last two playoff slots. With both teams looking to get off to strong starts...

Perry Enjoys All Star Experience

Some guys vacation. Some just enjoy family time. Others do their best to heal bumps, bruises and injuries that are lurking, but not publicized. Corey Perry does not get such luxuries as the only Anaheim Duck representative at the All Star game this weekend. Perry was not even supposed to be an All Star this year, despite being the reigning NHL MVP. Teemu Selanne was getting...

Matthew Barry: I Love All This Vancouver Trade Talk

Corey Perry! This is a bigger joke than what the Republicans are drumming out for Obama's competition. But.. but... we have Schneider! Yeah? And what happens if (and its a real possible if) Luongo starts to flop in the playoffs, or pulls a groin. Who are the Canucks going to rely on? The back-up joke they get back as a salary dump from whomever they deal Schneider? ...
