Former Toronto Maple Leaf goalie, Justin Pogge has signed with the Phoenix Coyotes today on a one year, two way deal. Pogge played 48 games with the Charlotte Checkers last season, as he recorded a 22-18-4, record with a 3.12 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

Pogge was a former third round (90th overall) in the 2004 entry draft and appeared in 7 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2008/09 season, posting a record of 1-4-1. I personally remember Pogge’s only win because I was contemplating starting him in my fantasy league, when he was called up. But I did not start him during the evening of his only NHL win.

Obviously Pogge has not done much in his NHL career, but who knows what could happen with him in the desert. After Ilya Bryzgalov left the Coyotes, the Yotes have Mike Smith, Curtis McElhinney and Jason LaBarbera for this season. So who knows, Pogge could get a chance this year, from looking at the competition he has in the desert this year.
