Patrick Kane will return back to wing in tonight’s game against the New York Islanders. United Center, puck hits the ice at 7:30 pm, local time. Kane will join the first line, centered by Toews. Viktor Stalberg will be on the other side. I don’t get it with Stalberg. Sure he has speed, but in my book he’s a 3rd line winger at best. I don’t know what they see in him. It’s certainly not point production. Marcus Kruger, speaking of lack of points, will center the 2nd line.
In response to the changes, Coach Q said,“Kane at center has been a good option for us. Kruger is playing well. It gives us a different look. We just wanted to try something else.”
On the switch, Toews commented, “I think we’ll just go back to our old ways and just go out there and make plays. Both guys want the puck more than the other. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. The good thing about playing with Kane is sometimes you can just kind of shy away from the puck and get away from all the attention and kind of...

The news from Blackhawks practice on Thursday morning was fairly surprising to some. Patrick Kane had left the center position on the team’s second line, where he has spent most of the season, to move back to Jonathan Toews’ right … Continue reading →

So that first game back was a bit of a dud, huh? Well, apparently the Hawks are determined to continue on this rollercoaster stretch, so hopefully we get treated to a win tonight. (Although if we're to choose between tonight and tomorrow, I'd rather the win be against St....
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Marian Hossa scored twice and the Chicago Blackhawks solved streaking St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott in a 5-2 victory Saturday night.
Hossa scored on a power play and short-handed for his first multigoal game of the season. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Michael Frolik also scored to help Chicago win for the fourth time in five games. The Blackhawks were...

The Chicago Blackhawks appeared stagnant in their first game back following their annual circus trip.
They'll look to pick up the pace Friday night against the New York Islanders, who are feeling good after opening their four-game trek with a pair of rare road wins.
Chicago (14-8-3), which posted back-to-back victories to split its recently completed six-game trip, failed to...
Jonathan Toews netted the only goal in the shootout, after posting a short-handed goal and assist in regulation, and the Chicago Blackhawks outlasted the New York Islanders 5-4 on Friday night.
The Blackhawks got a conditional seventh round draft pick from the Ottawa Senators in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for 25-year-old forward Rob Klinkhammer.
There are usually three outcomes when you play a bottom-feeding team and none of them feel good.
Either you win convincingly, which was the script all along, or you lose and everyone goes into a tizzy. Only slightly better than the latter but not the former is huffing and puffing your way to a "win" against that team.
The Hawks chose that route Friday night.
Veteran backup Ray Emery is in goal for the Chicago Blackhawks as they take on the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night at Scottrade Center.
So here’s the scoop. The Islanders suck but have won two in a row. But the Hawks have been leaving huge steaming piles on the ice lately. Trying to turn it around tonight with Kane back to wing and Marcus Kruger as the second center? Okay then, here we go.On an ensuing power play from an idiotic too many men penalty, a shot from the point by Travis Harmonic was kicked right to...
