News prior to puck drop: Chris Kelly, who sustained an undisclosed injury last night in Ottawa will not be playing tonight. The third line should look like this: Jordan Caron on the right , Rich Peverely at center and Jay Pandolfo on the left.
Coach on Chris Kelly: "No news. He's here with us...there's some swelling obviously so it's hard to say where he's at right now"^CS

More on Kelly from Coach: "We'll probably be able to give an update in the next day or so once he gets home and the swelling goes down^CS

Also, Tuukka Rask will get the night off on the back to back. Before we start to worry here are Khudobin's stats:
2.41 GAA, .910 save percentage.
Compared to Penguins starter, Marc-Andre Fleury stats of 2.71 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
Should be a good game, puck drops in 30 mins on either NESN or NBCSN.
BEST OF MAXIM
The shortened NHL season, with its quick start and jam-packed schedule, was supposed to mean a plethora of injuries across the league. While some teams like the Senators have fallen in line with that, the Bruins have been one of the luckier clubs when it comes to medical issues this season.
The B’s entered Monday’s game in Ottawa having missed just seven man games as team this...
Chris Kelly is out for god knows how long. It was reported today that he has a broken tibia and is out indefinitely. Ouch. Here's the play for those who don't remember and/or love to watch knee on knee hits:
According to the Bruins, Kelly is out indefinitely. Those looking for a timetable might find it instructive that Kings center Jeff Carter...
Halfway through the season, the Bruins have plenty of reasons to feel like awarding some attaboys.
After all, they’re right in the hunt for the Northeast Division crown, have been able to avoid injuries to many of their key guys and have erased any worries about missing Tim Thomas thanks to the strong play of Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin.
With that in mind, NESN Nation’s Dan...

The Boston Bruins have a strong grip on the second spot in the North East division, leading Ottawa by 7 points and trailing Montreal by only 1. Other than a few missteps by the defense, there has not been much to critique. Tyler Seguin seems to have found his game having scored 4 times in the past 4 games. Tuukka Rask has answered any questions that may have remained about his ability...
Shootouts are an NHL gimmick so if you're pissed at what Kaspar Daugavins did last night than, well, we don't know what to tell you. Here's his crazy move.
It's a high risk, high reward maneuver. He nails it and Ottawa is singing songs of his grandeur. He fails and he looks like a giant chump who wasted a chance to win a game for his team. Thank god...
David Krejci scored the shootout winner and had an assist in regulation as the Boston Bruins defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Monday night.
Tuuka Rask made 30 saves in regulation and stopped three of four Senators in the shootout, including a bizarre attempt from Kaspars Daugavins. The Ottawa forward carried the puck by pressing down with the tip of his stick before attempting...
Penguins 3, Bruins 2
In a matchup of a few Eastern Conference favorites, the Bruins and Penguins had their first meeting of this condensed season on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. While the Bruins came out of the gate strong and put up two early goals in the first period, they wound up choking away another lead and falling on their face as the Penguins reeled off three unanswered tallies...
As soon as the game was over the excuses poured in. Yes, we're sure the Bruins were tired after playing 65+ minutes the previous night. Yes, we're sure the Penguins relentless attack didn't help the Bruins energy reserves. But seriously. They scored their two goals and then just sat back and watched. You CAN'T do that against the Penguins. You just can'...
Last season, the Bruins were the best third-period team in the league, but this collapse was the latest example of why that’s no longer true.
One day they’re resilient. The next they’re, well, the victims of a team who decided to be resilient. This was one of those collapses that you could just see coming from a mile away. Like I said after Monday night’s game in Ottawa...

Game II in the five-game Boston-Ottawa series wasn't dissimilar to the first installment: the Bruins emerged victorious, but needed extra-time in order to best their divisional rival.
David Krejci scored the game-winner in the skills competition after an absolutely hilarious spin-o-rama attempt by Kaspars Daugavins was stopped by...
The Boston Bruins have clearly played like one of the Eastern Conference's top teams, which is perhaps why their last result was so disappointing.
A matchup at home Thursday night against the struggling Florida Panthers should provide Boston with a good opportunity to bounce back.
The Bruins (17-4-3) won three in a row and nine of 11 prior to a 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Tuesday...
The Penguins host the Boston Bruins tomorrow night so we asked the fantastic Bruins blog Days of Y’Orr a few questions about the B’s. This is Getting Old: The Bruins are off to a great start. Stanley Cup or bust? Days of Y’Orr: I would say Stanley Cup Finals or bust. If they lose to…
The last two times the teams faced off was back in February. The Bruins won 4-1. It was considered the calme before the storm of a rough scheduele ahead. So far it has proven true.
The Bruins have lost Chris Kelly to injury, broken tibia, and now the already struggling 3rd line needs help. At first it seemed the Bruins would probably make a trade but now they have to. Kellys injury...
