"It's very nice to score against them, but I'm just happy to get the win and show that we can compete against the top teams in the league," Michael Ryder said this the last time he faced the Bruins on December 31st 2011. Ryder scored a power play goal in the 4-2 win over the Bruins. But now Michael Ryder is on a new team. The most hated team in Boston. The team the Bruins will go up against tonight. The Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens are 13-4-4 and are tied with the Bruins at 30 points a top the division. The Canadiens are bouncing off an awful season in which they went 31-35-16, fired their head coach, and traded Mike Camelleri.
A Big part of the Canadiens resurgence jsut a season later is thanks to having all guns blazing from the blue line. PK Subban, Andrei Markov, and Rapheal Diaz have a combined 10 goals and 26 assists. And ofcourse it always helps to have a great goal tender like Carey Price in net. Price has a 2.20 goals against average and is 11-3.

BOSTON — The Montreal Canadiens haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1993, which is basically the equivalent of two lifetimes when you’re talking about hockey’s most successful franchises. While they may not be quite ready to end that drought this year, it’s clear that they’re certainly going in the right direction.
It would appear that there is a bit of a change in philosophy...
David Desharnais and the Montreal Canadiens saw an opening when Zdeno Chara went to the penalty box, and they certainly made the most of it.
Max Pacioretty scored the tying goal in the third period and Desharnais put Montreal ahead to stay, leading the Canadiens to a 4-3 comeback win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday in a matchup of the Eastern Conference's top teams.
After the game last night, Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julian wasn't happy with the Montreal Canadian in general and he said they were embellishing on the ice.
I included the check that Boston Bruin's tough guy Shawn Thornton put on Canadian's defenseman P.K. Subban, in my opinion, it looks
like Subban over dramatized that hit quite a bit.
Was that hit a penalty...
On Sunday night, the Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens historic rivalry added another classic game to their storied history. The Canadiens scored two goals in the third to steal the game from the Bruins. Before that though, the game was chippy and included two fights. Milan Lucic and Brandon Prust fought for the third time, but this was the first time with Prust wearing a Canadiens...

Since his rookie year, Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban has become public enemy No. 1 at the TD Garden. Subban’s history of flopping, coupled with his constant badgering of Bruins players, has ensured he will...
Sunday night’s game between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins featured a full-on playoff atmosphere, with Montreal winning a 4-3 thriller that went down to the wire. Penalties were one of the stories of the evening, as the Bruins served 32 minutes in the box compared to Montreal’s 16. The Canadiens had five power play’s, while Boston had only six.
After the game, Bruins...
David Desharnais scored the winner with his second goal of the game less than four minutes after Max Pacioretty tied it earlier in the third period, lifting the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 comeback win over the Boston Bruins in a matchup of the Eastern Conference's top teams Sunday night.
Tomas Plekanec also scored for the Canadiens, who jumped two points ahead of Boston for...
The Montreal Canadiens have earned at least one point in 11 straight games, but they missed an opportunity to collect two in their most recent matchup with the New York Islanders.
The Canadiens will try to avenge that overtime defeat in Tuesday night's rematch and improve to 2-0-0 on their longest road trip of the season.
Montreal (14-4-4) is 8-0-3 in its last 11 games, including...
from Damien Cox of The Spin,
We've spent a fair bit of time of late extolling the virtues of this season's play by the Montreal Canadiens, and for good reason.
Not only are the Habs in first, but they've become the most entertaining team in Canada to watch, including two rollicking games against Pittsburgh and Boston on the weekend that earned the Canadiens three...
Boston Bruins versus the Montreal Canadians... At first it appeared that the puck had gone off of Max Pacioretty's stick, but after further review it was obvious that it went off of Johnny Boychuk's stick.
Montreal goal listed as to Max Pacioretty, but thatll be changed to David Desharnais off Johnny Boychuk's stick en route to net. Habs up 2-1
