The Los Angeles Kings will be without the services of center Jeff Carter for Thursday's game against the Pacific Division rival San Jose Sharks, coach Darryl Sutter said. Carter will miss his fourth straight contest with a deep bone bruise in his ankle. The Kings (40-27-13), who have posted a 2-0-1 mark in that stretch, can secure a postseason berth on Thursday. Tests revealed no structural damage for Carter, who is progressing well - according to Sutter. Carter has six goals and three assists in 16 games since being acquired on Feb. 24 from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Ryane Clowe interferes with rush from bench

Last night, the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings faced off in a hugely important divisional match-up which unfortunately resulted in a Kings 6-5 shootout loss. At stake for the Kings was the potential to clinch the division and of course a little redemption from last year’s postseason. The game had a very gritty, playoff-type feel to it, resulting in a combined total of...

Sharks' Ryane Clowe blatantly cheated, while sitting on the bench, and got away with it (Video)

San Jose Sharks left winger Ryane Clowe blatantly cheated, and got away with it, while sitting on the bench during the third period of Thursday night's NHL game against the Los Angeles Kings. Clowe reached over onto the ice with his stick and tapped the puck away while Kings center Jarret Stoll was racing down the ice with it on a 3-on-2 breakaway. It happened...

First in the Pacific could be up for grabs Saturday

Look forward to a wild Saturday night in San Jose, as the Kings and San Jose Sharks will play a game that could have a ton of significance. The quickening effect

Some time back, Randy or Drew mentioned Highlander during a game without saying the obvious thing, the thing you say when you mention Highlander: “There can be only one.”  No, I think he said something about the quickening.  I don’t think it was a game against the Kings but a discussion of Jonathan Quick is the obvious next step. Does Quick get stronger with every team he...

Sharks-Kings Preview

After 80 games, nothing has been settled in the Pacific Division, with the top three teams separated by one point. Although first place is up for grabs, the Los Angeles Kings control their own fate. They can significantly hurt the San Jose Sharks' chances of securing a fifth straight division title Thursday night in the opener of a season-ending home-and-home series at Staples...

Sharks beat Kings in SO, even Pacific race

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- With about 2 minutes left in what was already the wackiest game of the season for the Sharks and Kings, Ryane Clowe stood up at the San Jose bench and reached his stick over the boards and onto the ice. Clowe deftly poked the puck away from Los Angeles' onrushing Jarret Stoll, who understandably didn't anticipate this development, then pulled his stick...

Kings-Sharks Preview

Ryan Clowe's moment of blatant cheating could be a reason the San Jose Sharks may have a chance at a fifth straight Pacific Division title. The Los Angeles Kings wouldn't mind getting a measure of revenge on Clowe while hoping they have a shot at just their second division crown in team history. The bitter rivals conclude the regular season in what could be a winner-takes...
