The Kings acquired defenseman Keaton Ellerby from the Florida Panthers on Feb. 8 almost out of desperation, after they had lost defensemen Matt Greene (back surgery) and Willie Mitchell (knee surgery) for extended periods of time and before they lost Alec Martinez to an upper-body injury. Martinez missed eight games and is scheduled to play Monday against Nashville, the first of the three injured defensemen to return. Ellerby will keep his spot in the lineup and instead, Davis Drewiske will sit out. Ellerby, 24, has proved a good find especially for the modest price of a fifth-round pick in the 2013 entry draft. The Kings like his size 6-foot-5 and 221 pounds and he has averaged 15 minutes and 28 seconds ice time in 10 games. Hes been fine, Kings Coach Darryl Sutter said after the teams morning skate in El Segundo. You know what, its sort of exactly what we talked about when we got him. Hes a big kid thats mobile and so its just the next part all the execution things. Ellerby...

First, happy birthday to Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi, who turned 55 on Tuesday. Hes eligible for a pension, Coach Darryl Sutter said. No one is about to pension him off just yet. The Kings approached Tuesdays game against the St. Louis Blues at Staples Center the second of a rare back-to-back sequence at home having won six of their previous seven games and eight of their...

Kings goalie Bernier to start against Predators

The Kings morning skate on Monday was optional, and many players took the option to work out off the ice instead of on it. But two lineup changes were apparent for Monday nights game at Staples Center against the Nashville Predators: Jonathan Bernier will start in goal in place of Jonathan Quick, and defenseman Alec Martinez will return to the lineup after missing eight games. Bernier...

Erin Andrews Laughs As Vancouver Green Men Troll Jarret Stoll

YouTube.com Erin Andrews has quite the life. After dodging kisses from 50 Cent last week, Pageviews was lounging on Saturday night while her dude, L.A. Kings center Jarret Stoll, was facing down the angry Canucks’ crowd at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The Green Men are relentless. They think Stoll is a ‘Burger King.’ As it turns out, the Green Men didn’t break Stoll until...

How to Beat the Goalie: Bernier

(Photo by: Mark J. Terril/AP Photo) Since being drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2006, Jonathan Bernier has found himself as a backup to Jonathan Quick. Bernier is a very capable goaltender and could start in at least five other NHL cities. He knows that because earlier this season, he asked for trade from Los Angeles knowing he wouldn't be making any progress...

About Last Night…Carter, Kings Trounce Predators

Jeff Carter’s natural hat trick staked the Kings to a 3-0 lead and that was far more than enough offense as they pounded the Predators 5-1 last night. SPIN: The Kings continue their ascent towards a playoff spot and are...

Predators-Kings Preview

The Los Angeles Kings hope the end of their winning streak was simply a one-game reprieve from the stellar goaltending they've had of late. The Nashville Predators' league-worst offense continues to sputter and the team's current struggles show little sign of fading until its penalty-kill issues are sorted out. Los Angeles will look for a sixth win in seven games Monday...
