New England Sports React:
The L.A. Kings have completely dominated the Phoenix Coyotes in the Western Conference Finals.
The Kings managed to do it again. They now have an 11-1 playoff record with their only loss coming against the Vancouver Canucks in the first round. At this point I am no longer surprised by what this team can do. They are far and away the best team in the NHL right now and have far and away the best goaltender. Jonathan Quick has been absolutely unbeatable in net. Phoenix has been unable to affectively play well in the offensive zone and certainly haven’t been able to beat Quick regularly. He only gave up two goals in game one, none in game two, and one in game three. His save percentage is an amazing .951.
Goaltending has not been the only impressive thing about the L.A. Kings during this round. The entire team in general has played really well. The Kings have gotten significant offensive contributions from their top three lines, and their fourth line has been very physical. Defensively they are like a brick wall; many shots don’t even reach Jonathan Quick. They can play a fast run and gun style or a hard-nosed physical style; it doesn’t matter. Their team toughness has been great, every player plays hard and most are willing to mix it up if need be. This team is by far the best in the league and I don’t see anyone left in the playoffs who can beat them. Right now I think the Stanley Cup will be raised by the Los Angeles Kings this season.

LOS ANGELES On January 22 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, brothers Dwight and D.J. King faced off against each other for only the second time in their professional careers. LOS ANGELES In six weeks, the Los Angeles Kings have evolved from Clowed-out to close-out.
They are in the process of putting to rest many of the intangibles that have been inflicted upon the organization since Jacques Demers called Kerry Fraser to his bench with 1:45 remaining in Game 2 of the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals. From the suspect goaltending spread over so many seasons, injuries...

The Preakness Stakes race’s 6 PM start yielded a very, very early matinee game between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils today, and as our friends at NBC seem to prefer to not mess with their Sunday evening lineup, the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes will play at 3 PM EDT—a noon start, local time—on Sunday. Due to conflicting cross-continental schedules and locales...
