… Online Balloting Recommences Tomorrow at DetroitRedWings.com …
Detroit, MI… Following in the footsteps of his fellow ‘Grind Line’ member Kris Draper, four-time Stanley Cup champion Kirk Maltby has emerged victorious from the latest round of voting in Operation: Bobblehead – Alumni Edition, an ongoing campaign charged with determining which former Red Wings greats will be immortalized in the form of a collectible 6 ½ inch polyresin figurine during the upcoming NHL season. Bobbleheads depicting Maltby and Draper as well as Steve Yzerman and Vladimir Konstantinov will be distributed to 7,500 lucky Joe Louis Arena patrons at select 2012-13 Red Wings home games, with two more alumni set to join their ranks in the coming weeks.

If Darren Helm reads his press clippings, he’s got to feel pretty good about himself right now. By Rhys Richards (@RREsq)
The Detroit Red Wings will look dramatically different on defense this season.
While the team has been rumored to have made inquiries regarding Jay Bouwmeester and Keith Yandle, neither can replace the void left by the retired Nicklas Lidstrom if a deal is made. The off-season trade of stalwart stay-at-home...
The Ted Lindsay Award commemorates one hell of a Red Wing
Most Red Wings fans don’t need to be told who Ted Lindsay is, but ESPN’s Sarah Goldstein believes that it’s important for fans to know the name between the NHLPA’s member-voted MVP trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award. Especially given the fact that Lindsay was instrumental in the eventual founding of the NHLPA, this is a particularly well-timed article:
Playing for the St. Michael’s...
Red Wings overnight report: talking about the lockout as it applies to training camp’s bottom line
We haven’t even gotten to the “lockout” portion of the present-day CBA showdown between Gary Bettman, the Board of Governors and owners and the NHLPA yet, and I already found myself walking around the grocery store on Monday night with a scowl on my face.
I would think about the utter ridiculousness of the owners coming to the players and demanding a huge “bailout” without...
