The Rangers held one last practice earlier today before they gear up for Saturday's Game 7 at Madison Square Garden against the Washington Capitals. Nothing overly worthy of headlines came out of it, but there two things to note.

The first was that rookie Chris Kreider was reunited with Derek Stepan and Ryan Callahan on the second line; something many of us pleaded for after Wednesday's loss in Game 6. Kreider has cooled off since his sudden surge earlier in the playoffs, but that's due in part to the fact that he was only receiving fourth line minutes. Now skating with the second line, Chris will have more of an opportunity to flourish, which he's already done while playing with Stepan.

As wack as it may sound, the Rangers need Kreider's speed and offensive ability now more than ever. The team's been quieted offensively for most of the series and need someone to break the ice here and make a difference. Kreider could very well be that guy in Game 7 just as he was in the series opener.

The lines were as follows, per Andrew Gross:

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik

Kreider - Stepan - Callahan

Anisimov - Boyle - Prust

Fedotenko - Mitchell - Rupp

Happy to see Anisimov staying on the third line. He's been quietly effective throughout this entire series.

ZUCCARELLO PRACTICES

Mats Zuccarello practiced with the team for the first time today. For over a week now, Zuccarello has skated on his own before the rest of the team took the ice, but this morning practiced fully with the club wearing a non-contact jersey. If the Rangers win tomorrow to move on, there's a good chance he will be ready to make his return in the Conference Finals against the New Jersey Devils.

The question then becomes who will come out of the lineup?
