According to Larry Brooks at the New York Post, the Rangers have assigned Chris Kreider to the CT Whale. ...i guess the Rangers took my advice yesterday. lol. This was a no brainer. Made no sense for him to either be playing four minnutes on the fourth line or sitting in the press box. Hoping he takes advantage of this move to gain some confidence and get himself back in the NHL as soon as possible. ...also guess this mean Nash is good to go tonight. Kreider returned to AHL

The Rangers have sent Chris Kreider back to the AHL’s Connecticut Whale, a move that was widely expected once the Rangers got healthy. Kreider was sent down last week, but was immediately recalled due to the Rick Nash “concussion” and played while he was out. With Nash back, Kreider can return to the Whale to work on his play without the puck. It is important for Kreider to...

Lundqvist Has to Have that One

The Rangers have always depended on Henrik Lundqvist to bail them out of every sticky situation they encounter. And up until this point in his career, he has answered the bell each time. However, this season, the Rangers and their fans are learning how average this team really can be when Lundqvist isn't on top of his game. While he covered up for every defensive miscue...

Potential trade dealine target: Ian White

Rick Osentoski/Associated Press The Rangers are in desperate need of a reliable defenseman to shore up the bottom pairing. Right now, it looks like a competition between Steve Eminger and Matt Gilroy, and neither really instills confidence in the Rangers fan base. Eminger has been steady in previous seasons, but he hasn’t found the lineup consistently so far. Gilroy has had flashes...

Game 19 preview: Lightning at Rangers

Rangers going for the sweep. The Lightning come to town for their third and final game against the Rangers, having dropped the previous two contests 3-2 and 5-1. This is where we would say something about how the Rangers own the Southeast, but they just dropped a game against Winnipeg with their B roster. As stated in our previous previews, Guy Boucher has the Lightning running...

Henrik Lundqvist is a bit overdressed in the new "This is SportsCenter" ad

Henrik Lundqvist must have missed the memo about casual Friday. In the latest This is SportsCenter ad, Lundqvist again makes an appearance, showing up to work in his cubicle with all of his goalie equipment and gear. This new spot isn't even in the same league as Lundqvist's previous appearance which also included the Swedish Chef from The Muppets, but it's nice to...

Lightning routed by Rangers in New York

NEW YORK (AP) -- Carl Hagelin and Derek Stepan scored in a one-sided first period, and the suddenly healthy New York Rangers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. Defenseman Marc Staal added just the eighth power-play goal of the season in the second period for New York, which ended an 0-3-1 skid in the second game of...

The Rangers’ Powerless Play

The 2013 New York Rangers are a disappointment so far during this lockout shortened NHL season. Coming off an impressive overachieving season where the Rangers finished first in the east and reached the conference finals, expectations were raised over the summer when the Rick Nash trade was consummated. Nash, plus a full year of Chris Kreider, [...]
