CHICAGO — Number 23, Kris Versteeg, left Friday night’s game in the second period and did not return against the Anaheim Ducks. Today, the Chicago Blackhawks received very good news following the dreaded ‘upper-body injury’ diagnosis last night. #Blackhawks‘ Kris Versteeg passed concussion protocols this morning and said he’s ready to play vs. Bruins tomorrow. — Chris Kuc (@ChrisKuc) January 18, 2014 Versteeg, following a collision with fellow teammate Bryan Bickell, appeared what can only be described as woozy as he skated off the ice. Immediately most Hawks fans as well as staff feared the worst, a concussion. Kris Versteeg Injury News [VIDEO] Versteeg Since Rejoining the Blackhawks Versteeg scored Chicago’s second goal at 17:06 into the first period marking his ninth lamp-lighter of the season and first since Dec. 27th. In 31 games since rejoining the club, Kris has 7 goals and 10 helpers with a +5 playing mainly on the third line for Joel Quenneville’s squad. Versteeg was acquired from the Florida Panthers back in November in exchange for forward Jimmy Hayes and defenseman Dylan Olsen. Great news that he was just shaken up and appears ready to go in a huge rematch of last year’s Stancley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins on Sunday. _______ Photo(s): Chicago Tribune; Fantasy Knuckleheads The post Kris Versteeg Injury News: Upper Body appeared first on Sports Mockery.
