The Daily Sports Herald:
The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings have sent qualifying offers to seven restricted free agents.
In order to obtain the right of first refusal or a compensatory draft pick for players who sign an offer sheet with another club, a one-year "qualifying offer" must be extended to any current restricted free agent by June 25.
If a team does not give a qualifying offer to a restricted free agent, that player is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and can sign with any team with no compensation required to the player’s former club.
Here are the seven restricted free agents who received an offer:
Dwight King - LW
Justin Azevedo - C
Andrew Campbell - D
Thomas Hickey - D
Stefan Legein - RW
David Meckler - LW
Jake Muzzin - D
Ray Kaunisto (LW) was not sent a qualifying offer, therefore making him an unrestricted free agent.

Los Angeles County prosecutors are reviewing an allegation by a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted earlier this year by L.A. Kings player Drew Doughty, a district attorneys spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Its under review, said spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons, who declined to detail the allegations, citing the offices pending decision. I expect a resolution this week.
from Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider, Give that we’re near the close of the day, it’s likely that there will not be any resolution today to the Drew Doughty case. Doughty’s attorney, Craig Renetzky, said he expects a decision to be made within the next 48 hours. Doughty has been accused of sexual assault by a 25-year-old woman, but no charges have been filed. Renetzky graciously...
You might have to forgive Jonathan Quick for still being in a little bit of a daze. He did just win sports' coolest trophy, after all. The Stanley Cup-winning goalie might still wake up some days in disbelief, but he already has an idea what he might do when it comes his turn to spend a day with the Cup. Quick spent his college years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst...

Sandi Gibbons, a district attorney's spokesperson, told the Times "It's under review." She expects a resolution this week. Doughty's attorney, Craig Renetzky, told the Times he expects the...
Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell put it best during the long-and-winding Stanley Cup run when he was pondering the race for the Conn Smythe Trophy.
"They're thinking about the other big trophy," he said of his teammates.
But Kings goalie Jonathan Quick would get to hold two big trophies the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe, becoming the third American...
With the Stanley Cup finally being awarded to the Los Angeles Kings and the NHL Awards and Draft lurking just around the corner, it is time that we ramp up coverage here at FTP.
Though we have provided some quick hits since the season ended and one big one in the form of the Philippe Dube’ Reebok/CCM piece, we have largely been in hiding since the Penguins were eliminated back...
There's no justifiable argument against Evgeni Malkin winning the Hart Memorial Trophy. During a Pittsburgh Penguins season beset by injuries up and down their lineup and with character role players forming much of the team's depth, Malkin alleviated much of the pressure on others to perform in Crosby's absence by shaking off injuries of his own to appear in 75 games...
I haven't seen any of these guys play, have you?
By the time they're ready to play in the NHL, I'll be collecting social security (if it's still around).
The Kings are hoping Scott Howson is stupid enough to actually KEEP the #30 pick.
Here's a look back at the #30 picks
2003 - Shawn Belle, Blues - Corey Perry was selected 2 slots earlier, Patrick...
The season is over, and the Stanley Cup has been awarded. But the NHL still has some hardware to hand out. In just a few days the NHL will hand out the Calder, Hart, Norris, Vezina and Jack Adams Trophy at the NHL Awards Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The league’s best players will invade Sin City, and will wait for the crowning of the NHL’s best rookie, head coach, defenseman,...
The 2011-2012 season officially ended last night with the 2012 NHL Awards Show in Las Vegas. While the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup, the big winners on the year were St Louis, Sweden and, in my opinion, Nashville, even though they didn't go back to Music City with as much hardware as they would have liked.
For a season that started with a record breaking number of...
from Dirk Hoag of On The Forecheck, The Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres are the big winners today with the NHL’s release of the 2012-2013 Regular Season schedule, when you examine the travel burden faced by all 30 teams.
Thanks to the fact that this season will not have opening games over in Europe, the Kings will travel more than 10,000 fewer miles than last season, when...
