The Los Angeles Kings say they are missing the puck that was on the ice when the franchise won their first Stanley Cup.
Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider believes New Jersey's Patrik Elias has the puck.
"The following video of the last two minutes of the game, and the ensuing celebration, clearly shows New Jersey’s Patrik Elias flip the puck into his glove and then skate off the ice. After it goes into Elias’ glove, it’s not seen again. Elias goes to the Devils’ bench, then returns to the ice after a few moments for the handshake line."
"I’ve made queries to the highest levels of Kings management, and nobody knows the whereabouts of the puck. After the handshake line, Elias curiously hands his stick to someone in the crowd, but he doesn’t appear to toss the puck. So, where it is, Patrik? In theory, he could have handed it to someone in the handshake line. If he did, it’s a marvelously kept secret. Elias wouldn’t be so petty as to keep the puck, would he?"

Per the Los Angeles Times’ Jack Leonard and Helene Elliott:

Los Angeles County prosecutors are reviewing an allegation by a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted earlier this year by L.A. Kings player Drew Doughty, a district attorneys spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Its under review, said spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons, who declined to detail the allegations, citing the offices pending decision. I expect a resolution this week.
The L.A. Kings have possession of the Stanley Cup, and at the end of the day that’s likely all they care about. However, the game-winning puck would certainly look nice in a trophy case right next to their massive piece of championship hardware. The problem is the Kings don’t seem to know where it is.
What we do know is that the puck was on the ice as the final horn sounded at...
You might have to forgive Jonathan Quick for still being in a little bit of a daze. He did just win sports' coolest trophy, after all. The Stanley Cup-winning goalie might still wake up some days in disbelief, but he already has an idea what he might do when it comes his turn to spend a day with the Cup. Quick spent his college years at the University of Massachusetts Amherst...
Defenseman Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings was investigated for an alleged sexual assault that took place earlier this year, the Los Angeles Times reported. Sandi Gibbons, a district attorney's spokesperson, told the Times "It's under review." She expects a resolution this week. Doughty's attorney, Craig Renetzky, told the Times he expects the...
Back in 2004, Doug Mientkiewicz was accused of “stealing” the game ball that recorded the final out of the Red Sox’ first World Series win in 86 years. It took eighteen months, but the story finally blew over – once Dougie permanently “loaned” the ball to the Baseball Hall of Fame on behalf of the [...]
Congratulations to the 2011-2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings! I don’t think anyone really expects to see a team dominate their way through a postseason the way the Kings did…and they did it as an 8th seed. Kudos to the entire organization, from the top all the way down to the bottom. They were patient building this team and knew when to make a splash with some...
With the Stanley Cup finally being awarded to the Los Angeles Kings and the NHL Awards and Draft lurking just around the corner, it is time that we ramp up coverage here at FTP.
Though we have provided some quick hits since the season ended and one big one in the form of the Philippe Dube’ Reebok/CCM piece, we have largely been in hiding since the Penguins were eliminated back...
Is the party over yet?
Depending on who you talk to, Kings former #4 pick and RFA (with a 1.3 mil NHL cap hit) Thomas Hickey has asked to be traded.
The Kings don't have 2nd or 3rd round picks this year and Lombardi and his staff have made a killing in the 2nd round (Toffoli, Clifford, Voynov, Moller, Simmonds), so look for Hickey to be moved soon for an early...
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua continues his quest back to the title when he collides with Muay Thai ace Brandon “The Truth” Vera at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, Aug. 4. The Ultimate Fighting Championship formally announced today that the Rua-Vera showdown will take place at the home of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles...
The Kings were in on the Star Wars joke the whole time! And by that, I don't mean "the thing that I did where I wrote Los Angeles Kings into the script of Star Wars". I mean "the thing where they made three mediocre moves as a prequil to three tremendous movies".
Rules are Rules and Brendan Shanahan and his directors of player safety are nowhere to be found.
Such is the inconsistencies of Shana-Ban.
Okay, I know, they don't want to take away from the joy of the Stanley Cup, but it's almost a week later and its time for the league to do what they're SUPPOSED to do.
Jarret Stoll should be suspended for his blind side hit...
