Found January 16, 2013 on Pro Sports Daily:
Center Matthew Lombardi has been traded back to the Phoenix Coyotes from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional draft pick. The draft pick could be as high as a 2014 fourth-rounder while the Maple Leafs will retain some of his salary. The deal gives the Coyotes depth at a position where they were lacking -- with a player whom the team knows well. In 2009-10 he posted a career-best 19 goals and 53 points. He then signed a four-year free-agent deal with the Nashville Predators, but played only two games during 2010-11 because of a concussion. He was traded to Toronto last season, playing in 62 games and scoring eight goals with 10 assists.

Toronto Maple Leafs 2013 season preview

When I look at the Toronto Maple Leafs roster, I not too impressed.  Sure you got the likes of  Phil Kessel , Dion Phaneuf, Joffrey Lupul, but that where it basically ends.  There are no big superstars like Sidney Crosby or Steve Stamkos.  In fact, their one top scorer, Mikhail Grabovski, is probably not well known outside the city of Toronto.  In this article, I  will point...

An even strength offensive comparison of Kadri, Bozak, Connolly and Grabovski

Earlier today I wrote a post about Tim Connolly and his offensive production at even strength. Shortly after posting that I thought a similar article comparing the performances of Bozak, Kadri and Conolly would be an interesting piece since they are sort of competing for roster spots (more so Kadri and Connolly than Bozak though). Of course, in the mean time Connolly

Tim Connolly and individual PK%

Yesterday evening James Mirtle from the Globe and Mail posted an article on The Curious case of Tim Connolly and the Leafs.  It’s worth a read so go read it but the premise of the article is how the narrative around Tim Connolly in training camp is he had a poor year last year and he needs to perform better

Coyotes plot strategy for condensed schedule

GLENDALE, Ariz. Heres what we already know about the Coyotes 48-game schedule.: One-third of their games (16) will be played in back-to-back sets. The season will end about three weeks later than last season, and there arent many minor-league players in training camp because the coaching staff and general manager Don Maloney dont have time to evaluate up-and-coming talent or alter...

Good or great? For Coyotes, it's up to Maloney

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- If Don Maloney were the general manager of the Suns, Diamondbacks or Cardinals, hed be a rock star in the Valley. Hes photogenic, hes likeable, hes refreshingly candid for a man in his position and, most important, hes very good at his job. In five seasons as the Coyotes' GM, he has distinguished himself with a litany of shrewd financial moves, his ability...

Video- Phoenix Coyotes Want Fans To ‘Join The Hunt’

A Chat With Dave Nonis

from Pierre LeBrun of ESPN, Toronto's goaltending issues last season were well-documented -- the Leafs were 29th in goals against -- and while Nonis professes to be a believer inJames Reimer and Ben Scrivens, it's clear the new GM has been doing his homework and is ready to act if a deal presented itself. "We would upgrade our goaltending by the weekend if...

And so it begins...

I'm running a bit behind here. Training camps opened on Sunday across the NHL and the Coyotes had their first public practice on Monday. I did attend and took a few pictures (after the jump). Being that it was the first day it is hard to say anyone really stood out or knocked my socks off. I didn't get to see any more so this is all I can go on.Andy Miele did completely undress...
